Animated Notations: Australian and British Composers

Australian new music ensemble Decibel focus on the integration of acoustic and electronic instruments in chamber music performance. They will be playing works by staff and students of the University of Liverpool in addition to works from Australia including composers withing the ensemble.

The concert will feature the screening of the dynamic, digital music notation read by the performers in real-time during the concert.

Decibel in the UK|Australia Season is supported by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Western Australian State Government through the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries. It is also supported by Monash University, Edith Cowan University and Tura New Music

This will be the first visit to Britain by the ensemble, who have toured Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand and around Australia.“It is so exciting to be able to tour these programs to Britain on our first visit there” Decibel’s Artistic Director Cat Hope says. “We look forward to not only showcasing our work there, but exchanging ideas and learning about the British scene.”
